It was a masterclass within the series “Professorat al dia” (“Keeping Faculty Up to Date”) in which study methodologies and advances in knowledge in an interdisciplinary area of Biology undergoing rapid expansion are presented to the Faculty’s teaching staff. Professor Villarroya presented current research on adipose tissue, its implications in relation to obesity, and the emerging pharmacological treatments developed in recent years.
